Alessandro Codognato

Alessandro Codognato earned an MA in Digital Media Studies from UCL, where his thesis examined the construction of climate delay discourses on the Instagram accounts of Italy’s right-wing governing coalition. Building on this research, he continues to write on the insidious nature of climate obstructionist discourses on social media. His work focuses particularly on how problematic mainstream media coverage of climate policy is strategically repurposed to legitimise political attacks on green measures as well as on the ways different platforms’ affordances and constraints shape the effectiveness and dissemination of such content.
