Stefano Liberti

Stefano Liberti is an Italian journalist, writer and documentary filmmaker whose work focuses on food systems, agriculture, migration and global geopolitics. Over the years, he has contributed to leading Italian and international publications, including The Guardian, Le Monde Diplomatique and Internazionale.
He is the author of several widely recognized books, including Land Grabbing (2011), an investigation into large-scale land acquisitions in the Global South, and The New Cannibals (2015), which examines the transformations of the global food industry. His work combines investigative journalism with long-form storytelling, addressing the intersections between environmental change, economic power and social justice.

Alongside his writing, he has developed documentary projects such as Landgrabbers, further expanding his research into visual storytelling. His work often explores the impacts of climate change on food production, migration patterns and global inequalities.

He is also co-founder of Effequ, contributing to the promotion of independent publishing and critical perspectives on contemporary global issues.
