Giovanna Melandri is an Italian economist, public leader, and a pioneer in impact finance and sustainable development. She currently serves as President of Human Foundation and Chair of the Italian Social Impact Investment Task Force (GSG Italy), contributing to global efforts to align capital with social and environmental impact.
Over the course of her career, she has played a key role in bridging public policy, cultural innovation, and the emerging impact economy. From 2012 to 2022, she was President of MAXXI – the National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome, where she transformed the institution into an international platform connecting culture, climate awareness, and social innovation, fostering dialogue between science, art, and policy.
Melandri previously held several senior roles in the Italian government, including Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities, Minister for Youth Policies and Sport, and Member of Parliament. During her public service, she consistently promoted environmental protection, urban regeneration, and inclusive growth.
