Omar Yaghi is a Jordanian-American chemist acclaimed as the father of MOFs (metal-organic frameworks), innovative porous materials with revolutionary applications in harvesting water from air, gas storage, and catalysis. His work established the new field of reticular chemistry. He has won numerous international prizes, including the Wolf Prize in Chemistry and the Albert Einstein World Award of Science.
