Giulia Foscari Widmann Rezzonico is an architect, curator and activist who has practised in Europe, Asia and the Americas. She is the founder of UNA, an architecture studio focused on cultural projects with a strong emphasis on preservation, and of its alter ego UNLESS, a non-profit agency devoted to interdisciplinary research on Global Commons and extreme environments threatened by the planetary crisis. Her past work includes an extensive collaboration with Rem Koolhaas at OMA/AMO, which began in Hong Kong and led her to run OMA’s South American platform, as well as a collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects. She taught at Hong Kong University and at the Architectural Association in London, where she founded The Polar Lab. She is the author of Elements of Venice (Lars Müller Publishers, 2014) and editor of Antarctic Resolution, which was awarded the S+T+ARTS Grand Prize by the European Commission. She is a member of the International Council of MoMA, a board member of the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, and a board member of the Antarctic and Southern Ocean Coalition (ASOC). Recent projects by UNA include the Anish Kapoor Art Foundation.
