ERICA VILLA (representative for EUCP Partner DVRI) is an Italian senior science communicator and artscience curator specialising in climate change and environmental communication. Based in Venice, she works as representative for DVRI (Venetian District of Research and Innovation), an Italian partner of the European Climate Pact.
She collaborates with institutions (Universities and the Italian National Research Centre), NGOs like We Are Here Venice (restoration of artificial salt marshes in the Venetian Lagoon), CIRF (Italian Centre for River Restoration) , Logon (science communication and misinformation) and international artscience curators to promote interdisciplinarity, co-creation and inclusion in science communication activities.
She is co-founder of ECHO, the Science Communication Hub of Ca’ Foscari University Foundation, currently focusing on the impact of climate change on glaciers. With over twenty years of experience across science journalism, institutional communication and public engagement, she is President of SWIM – Science Writers in Italy, the national association of science journalists and communicators, and Board Member of the European Federation for Science Journalism.
