Iñigo Larraya Tejero is a leading sustainability executive with a distinguished career at the intersection of corporate responsibility, climate action, and environmental strategy. Currently serving as Chief Sustainability Officer for L’Oréal’s European operations, he is one of the most prominent voices in the field of corporate sustainability within the beauty and consumer goods sector.
Larraya began his career in marketing at L’Oréal in 2005, where he spent nearly seven years building deep expertise in the industry. Driven by a commitment to environmental impact, he subsequently enrolled in a prestigious master’s programme in sustainability management at Columbia University in New York, graduating with distinction. This pivotal academic experience shaped his vision of integrating sustainability into core business strategy.
After Columbia, he held senior marketing and business development roles at LATAM Airlines, applying sustainability thinking in the aviation sector, before returning to L’Oréal in 2017 as CSR and Sustainability Director for Spain. In this capacity, he led pioneering initiatives to embed ecological responsibility across the company’s operations in the Iberian market. In 2021, he was promoted to Chief Sustainability Officer of L’Oréal’s Professional Products Division, overseeing sustainability strategy for a globally recognised portfolio of professional hair care brands.
In 2025, he was appointed Chief Sustainability Officer for L’Oréal Europe, taking on one of the most significant sustainability leadership roles in the corporate world. An active participant in international climate governance, he has spoken at COP28 and represented L’Oréal at the UN Global Compact’s Caring for Climate High-Level meetings. He is a committed advocate for bold climate leadership, human rights in the supply chain, and the alignment of business performance with planetary boundaries.
