Bertrand Badré

Bertrand Badré is Founder and Managing Partner of Blue like an Orange Sustainable Capital. He previously served as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of the World Bank Group, where he oversaw finance, risk, and operations, while promoting innovation and financial capacity for development. In this role, he represented the World Bank at the G7, G20, and Financial Stability Board.

Before joining the World Bank in 2013, he was Chief Financial Officer of Société Générale and Crédit Agricole, playing a key role in navigating the Eurozone crisis. Earlier in his career, he worked at Lazard in London, New York, and Paris, and served in the French Ministry of Finance.

He has held numerous board positions, including at Getlink (Eurotunnel), Eurazeo, and other international organizations, and serves as Senior ESG and Sustainability Advisor to JAB Holdings. He is also Chair of the Advisory Committee of Project Syndicate.

Badré is the author of Can Finance Save the World? and a leading voice on sustainable finance, impact investing, and the role of capital in addressing global challenges.
