Laura Cozzi

Laura Cozzi is Director of Sustainability, Technology and Outlooks at the International Energy Agency (IEA), a position she has held since 2023. In this role, she leads and coordinates the Agency’s work on energy sustainability, climate change, and energy technology policy, contributing to global efforts to accelerate the energy transition.

She also serves as the IEA’s Chief Energy Modeller, co-leading the World Energy Outlook, the Agency’s flagship publication, which provides critical analysis and scenarios shaping international energy and climate strategies. Cozzi joined the IEA in 1999 as a junior analyst within the World Energy Outlook team and has played a key role in the development of numerous editions of the report over more than two decades.

Before joining the IEA, she worked for the Italian energy company ENI S.p.A., gaining early experience in the energy sector. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan and a Master’s in Energy and Environmental Economics from Eni Corporate University.

Her work has been widely recognized at the international level. In 2025, she was awarded the title of Cavaliere dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana and received honorary doctorates from the Politecnico di Milano and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. She is also a member of the French National Academy of Technologies.

Through her leadership, Laura Cozzi continues to shape global energy analysis and policy, supporting informed decision-making toward a more sustainable and resilient energy future.
