Laura D’Aprile has served as Head of the Department for Ecological Transition and Green Investments at the Italian Ministry for Ecological Transition since September 2020.
Previously, she was Director of the Waste, Remediation and Pollution Division within the Environmental Protection Department of Roma Capitale, Head of Division III for Remediation and Environmental Recovery at the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea Protection – Directorate General for Land and Water Protection, and Head of the Contaminated Sites Unit at ISPRA (Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research).
She has also worked as a consultant for the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into illegal activities connected to the waste cycle at the Italian Chamber of Deputies, and held technical roles at ANPA (National Agency for Environmental Protection), Sapienza University of Rome, APAT (National Agency for Environmental Protection and Technical Services), and the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
She is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications. She earned a degree in Environmental and Territorial Engineering and a PhD in Environmental Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome.
